Akhil Akkineni has been announced as the writer for the upcoming espionage action thriller Agent. The film, directed by Surender Reddy, features Mammootty, also known as the “Malayalam Megastar,” in a significant role. As previously reported, the scheduled release date for the trailer was April 18. Today, the Agent team organized a press conference in Hyderabad, attended by local and national media.
At the press conference, a reporter asked Akhil why the PAN India release plan was canceled. Akhil confirmed that the film’s release across India remains a top priority, with simultaneous releases planned for Telugu and Malayalam versions. Furthermore, Akhil has stated that the release of the Hindi version will be postponed to a later date.
The decision to shift the release date of the Hindi version was based on several factors, one of which was the release of Salman Khan’s Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ka Jhan on April 21, as noted by Akhil. Our team has opted to adhere to the initial timetable to ensure we meet the exceptional Telugu release date of April 28 without any delays.
Akhil elaborated that obtaining a worldwide release date for PAN Indian films could pose challenges. The success of the film Kantara is a prime example of a multilingual hit, despite its staggered release dates. Akhil observed that their team is cautious about introducing the product in more languages and does not want to rush the process.
