The critical problem with Romancham is the requirement for a more exciting narrative. After spending more time on character introductions, the 45-minute mark marks the beginning of the primary storyline. The film requires much patience to get through the first hour because it is so uninteresting.
Watching the scenes involving the spirit board is a waste of time. This portion of the story neither amuses nor excites in the same way. After observing the events unfold without any noticeable impact for the first hour, it is reasonable to anticipate that the story will take a significant turn during the second hour.
But the plot could be better in the second half too. Touted to be a horror comedy, the movie doesn’t have any horror elements as such. The ending is left abrupt, only to have a sequel to the film. The editing could be terrible, as the film moves at a snail’s pace for the most part.
